The Wichita Black Arts Festival
is a 3 day cultural celebration that strives to introduce festival-goers to the rich artistic heritage and historical resonance of the African-American culture. It is held the first weekend in September.

Autumn & Art at Bradley Fair
is a visual arts show that is held mid-September annually, and features the works of nationally recognized artists from across the country. Their art, created in a variety of mediums, is exhibited throughout the festival's duration at Bradley Fair, and all pieces are available for purchase.

The Wagonmasters Downtown Chili Cook-Off
is held every September, usually the last weekend of the month, and downtown Wichita is set ablaze by the spicy recipes from several veteran chili chefs. Not only is the chili hot, but the festival hosts music and contests that will turn up the heat and make for a day of great family fun.

Be part of the high-flying action when the city celebrates it's aviation history with the Wichita Flight Festival
. The event is held in August at the McConnell Air Force Base, and features amazing aerial acts, activities and entertainment. A day spent at this festival will prove that this Wichita tradition soars above all others.

Chivalry is not dead! At least it's not at the Great Plains Renaissance Festival
. Mark your calendars for the second week in October and be there to see knights and fair maidens take over Sedgwick County Park. You'll feel like you've traveled back in time as you explore a medieval village, with authentic costumes on display, antiquated entertainment, and lots of great food and family fun.

The Tallgrass Film Festival
may be the launching pad for the next Steven Spielberg! To find out about all the great film-making talent in the area, make sure you head for this festival held the third week in October at various locations in downtown Wichita. This is the ninth annual festival, and it has built a solid tradition of allowing you to screen the best foreign, independent, short, retrospective and premiering films.
